The Chancellor of Mangosuthu University of Technology (MUT), Mr Sandile Zungu invites all qualifying students to the 2025 MUT graduation. Note that all ceremonies will start promptly at 09h00 or at 13h30 respectively.
Graduation is one of the most important occasions in the University’s academic calendar where students, both undergraduate and postgraduate, receive their hard-earned degrees and diplomas. Indeed, graduation marks the culmination of many years of personal sacrifice and hard work that have laid the foundation for successful and inspiring careers.
Dear Graduate congratulations on your outstanding achievement. We have no doubt that you are destined to do great things. With that comes the responsibility of making this a better world for all. We would appreciate it if you would exercise that responsibility at MUT, your Alma Mater, by providing us with valuable information which will help us improve the learning experience for our students. The new attire is in line with the new Corporate Identity and below is a glimpse of how the new attire looks.
Graduands will collect their academic attire on the day of their graduation at a marquee at Seme Sportsground. Graduands can only collect their academic attire on the day of their graduation.
The University has appointed professional photographers, Mshazi Photographers, to take individual photographs of graduands as they are being capped by the Chancellor and hooded by the Registrar during the ceremony. These photographs are available from the photographer at a cost to the graduand.
Graduands and guests are encouraged to ensure that their mobile phones are always on silent mode during the graduation ceremony.
Texting is permissible during the ceremonies. For voice calls should strictly be made outside the graduation venue.
Parking for graduands and their guests is available at the Seme Sportsgrounds. Security personnel will be on site to direct graduands and their guests to the respective parking areas.
As always, graduands and guests who require parking are advised to arrive two hours early to avoid delays.
Every year, MUT recognises top performing students across all its faculties with prizes. The best performing student in each faculty receives the Vice-Chancellor’s Award for their excellent results.
