Two of the University’s directorates recently hosted a delegation from the University of Venda who came to discuss the implementation, administration and management of grants in general. Dr Anette Mienie, Director: Research, said on 25 September 2024, the Research Directorate, and the Teaching and Learning Development Centre (TLDC), had talks with the University of Venda delegation on the administration of the University Capacity Development Programme (UCDP).  The visit was part of the University of Venda’s UL UCDP year-long project, which aims to “Strengthening Capacity and Efficiency in Grants Management at HDIs (Historically Disadvantaged Institutions)”. Dr Mienie said the purpose of the visit was to discuss problems, challenges, best practices and possible solutions in the administration, implementation and management of the grants in general but with a specific focus on grants falling under UCDP.
